no obvious distress
‘No Obvious Distress’ by Amanda Quaid features poems written after receiving a life changing diagnosis. The book explores themes of desire, marriage, motherhood and mortality.
John Murray Press, based in London, wanted a book cover designed for this new release.
I created cyanotype jellyfish prints for the cover because close ups of the jellyfish displayed imagery reminiscent of X-Rays and cells under a microscope. However, the shades of blue represent Quaid’s calm acceptance of her diagnosis.
